What Is the Purpose of a Mother's Room?
Milk production works on the principle of supply and demand. An employee who
chooses to continue breastfeeding her baby after returning to work, must breastfeed
or express her milk throughout the day in order to maintain her milk supply.
She must also be able to properly and safely store her milk for her baby’s use
later. Setting up a mother's room enables a woman to do this quickly and efficiently
at work by taking just a few short breaks a day.
